Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason and key biomedical research
organizations from around the state launched the first-ever Washington Biomedical Research Week, Nov. 13 to 17. Research Week was established to help share collaborations and breakthroughs in Washington that are advancing scientific and medical research here and around the world.
As part of the week, a “Collaborations in Life Sciences Research” conference took place Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Town Hall in Seattle. The half-day event explored the latest breakthroughs and discoveries from some of Washington state’s leading researchers and medical professionals. Speakers presented on research and efforts underway to solve many of the greatest health challenges today in areas like AIDS, diabetes, and obesity.
