BRI Science Fridays

Dreambuilders' Ball 2010 May 8
Plans are underway for the 19th Annual Dreambuilders’ Ball to celebrate advances in research and to benefit Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI). Enjoy a black-tie evening, complete with gourmet dining, live and silent auctions, premier entertainment and dancing. The event will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, 6:00 p.m., at The Westin Seattle. The theme is “Exploring the Mystery.” The co-chairs for 2010 are Laura and Ian MacNeil and Kathleen Kobashi, MD, and Christopher Porter, MD.
Benaroya Research Institute Triathlon At Seafair

Break out the swim gear, dust off the running shoes and bicycle and get that training schedule going in preparation for one of the best triathlons in the Pacific Northwest. The Benaroya Research Institute Triathlon at Seafair brings fun and excitement while the course scenery is magnificent. Test your skills and achieve your goals on this flat, fast and picturesque sprint triathlon course. The "sprint distance" triathlon features a 1/2-mile swim, 12-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. Boeing Classic, the Annual PGA TOUR Champions Event Aug. 23 - 29
We are happy to announce that the Boeing Classic, the annual PGA TOUR Champions event hosted by Virginia Mason Medical Center, will benefit the Benaroya Research Institute, beginning in 2010.
The televised Boeing Classic will be held August 23-29 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge golf course in Snoqualmie, Wash. The event includes 78 Champions Tour professionals with 54 holes of stroke play with no cut. The Boeing Classic earned the Champions Tours 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award.

Diabetes Expo, May 1 -- BRI is helping to sponsor this American Diabetes Association event and will have a booth on diabetes research. BRI will also provide free diabetes risk screening for relatives of people with Type 1 diabetes.
