Family Members

Do you have a relative with Type 1 diabetes? We have studies to evaluate your risk of developing Type 1 diabetes and prevention studies. Studies in relatives of people with diabetes may help us discover better tests to predict which family members are likely to develop diabetes.

  • Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Natural History Study
    • Individuals between the ages of 1-45 years with a first-degree relative (parent, child, sibling) with Type 1 diabetes
    • Individuals between the ages of 1-20 years with a second-degree relative (grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin or half-sibling) with Type 1 diabetes
