Position: Laboratory Technician I/II
Department: Histology Core Laboratory
Status: Part-time (20 hours)
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
This position will be responsible for preparing common laboratory reagents, assisting with laboratory maintenance and performing supporting laboratory experiments. This includes preparation of buffer solutions, stocking laboratory supplies, managing laboratory chemical waste, autoclaving biological waste, updating laboratory records and performing routine lab equipment maintenance.

This position could also be responsible for sharing the histology duties to include sample processing, embedding, microtomy, slide mounting, staining and coverslipping. Other duties may include accessioning, billing and cataloging specimens on the computer.

The candidate should have one year of college courses emphasizing laboratory science or equivalent or one year experience as a Laboratory Tech I or equivalent. Training in histology will be provided.
