What is the Newly diagnosed, untreated ovarian or peritoneal cancer (GOG 0218) study?
Arm 1 Standard Chemotherapy:
Phase A: Chemotherapy (cucles 1-6) every 3 weeks
with Paclitaxel/Docetaxel, Carboplatin and
Placebo(for Bevacizumab)(Bevacizumab cylces 2-6)
Phase B: Placebo (for Bevacizumab) every 3 weeks
cycles 7-22
Arm 2 (concurrent Bevacizumab):
Phase A: Chemotherapy (cucles 1-6) every 3 weeks
with Paclitaxel/Docetaxel, Carboplatin and
Bevacizumab cylces 2-6
Phase B: Placebo (for Bevacizumab) every 3 weeks
cycles 7-22
Arm 3(extended Bevacizumab):
Phase A: Chemotherapy (cucles 1-6) every 3 weeks
with Paclitaxel/Docetaxel, Carboplatin and
Bevacizumab cylces 2-6
Phase B: Bevacizumab every 3 weeks(cycles 7-22)
Who can participate?
Eligibility:
~Histological diagnosis of epithelial ovarian cancer or peritoneal primary carcinoma, FIGO stage III with any gross resudual diseasr or FIGO stage IV.
~Must enter in study between 1-12 weeks after inital surgerry.
Ineleigible:
~Patient with current diagnosis of borderline epithelial ovarian tumor or recurrent invasive epithelia ovarian cancer treated with surgery only.
~Patients who have received prior radiotherapy to any portion of the abdominal cavity or pelvis.
~Patients who have received prior chemotherapy for any abdominal or pelvi tumor including neo-adjuvant for thier ovarian or primary peritoneal cancer.
