- Individuals diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes within the past five years
- Ages 6-45 years
Long-Standing Type 1
- Individuals diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes more than four years ago
Family Members
- Individuals who have a first or second degree relative with Type 1 diabetes
African- or Mexican-American
- African-American and Mexican-American individuals with Type 1 diabetes
- African-American and Mexican-American individuals who do not have diabetes, or a family history of diabetes
